The most popular student groups are the ones that offer a lot of opportunities to meet other people. Fraternities and sororities are big on campus. We may not have a lot of Greek houses, but they definitely have a presence on campus. Other big groups include UNICEF, SGA, and professional honors societies.

I work at the gym which is where like everyone hangs out. On a sat night you go on campus and there are always activities happening. People in Miami are always partying so there's always something to do. Students in dorms keep the doors close.

There are many events and groups at Florida International University. Fraternities and sororities seem to be very popular and appealing at FIU. People want to join and others support by buying cooked goods at bake sales. Our athletic program isn’t great but getting better and the support is growing. Our administration is even awarding Panther Points when students attend games and a student can build up their points to win great prizes like HDTV 1080 TVs, IPads, laptops, IPods and more. Guest speakers and theater is not as popular at FIU. Before football games most students play drinking games off campus.
I met my closet friends at orientation and a few from an ecology class where we have to spend 5 Saturdays out in some environmentally significant areas. If I am up at 2am on a Tuesday I am usually finishing school work, but other than that on the weekend I am hanging out with my friends. Last weekend my friends and I went to south beach.
There are traditions at FIU like Sammies foam party, the homecoming dance, and homecoming concert. People party at least every other weekend. My friends and I don’t usually go to clubs every weekend because we have a lot of school work and would like to be successful in college. There are many things one can do on a Saturday night that does not involve drinking. For example, partying in Miami, going to game night at Biscayne Bay campus, going to the beach, going to a FIU basketball game, go to chili’s for dinner, or just hang out on campus with some good friends. There are so many off campus activities available for FIU students because we are in Miami. People can go to clubs, hookah bars, drinking bars, the Miami zoo, the seaquarium, the beach, go snorkeling, swimming, thousands of restaurants to dine at, and there is even a skating rink 15 minutes away from the MMC campus. FIU students have many opportunities to be involved with the school , the city and have fun.

The most popular and well known group in FIU is SPC. they are in charge of all campus events for students. the fraternities and sororities are constantly active on campus and many students attend athletic events.

The most popular groups at FIU are the sorority's and fraternity's. However, that is not all. There are many other clubs that are active and showing their school spirit. One club that is always active is SPC, or Student Programming Council. They plan activities on campus and many are free to students. For instance, every Friday they play a movie on campus with two showtimes, 5pm and 8pm.

There are endless amounts of organizations, clubs, etc.
I am involved in Water for People. It is out of Colorado. We assist in raising awareness in bringing reliable aqueduct systems to third world countries.
Athletic events and guest speakers are very popular. There are various activities on a daily basis on campus.
My closest friends were met through mutual classes.
Fraternities and sororities are important, and do have weekly events promoting self advancement opportunities.
I attended a musical show at the Culture Room in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
On a Saturday night catching up on homework or upcoming tests is always a good idea. Work around the house, help with the family, movies.....etc.
Seeking employment opportunities, relaxing, helping around at home. There is always something to get done.

The most popular are the fraternities, Student Government Association, and the Resident Hall Association. I'm involved with so many things including all mentioned above. I can tell you more about it during a session.
FIU is big on football, volleyball, and basketball. Hey! We are the winners of the Sunbelt Conference!
FIU is big on traditions. If you kiss your loved one on the Kissing Bridge, you'll get married to that person. Rotate the revolving cube near the Deuxieme Maison building before an exam and you'll get A's! (Only if you studied) Step on the FIU seal and you won't graduate!
And plenty more!

Student Alumni Association, Greek Life, Dance Marathon, Relay for Life, Student Government Council, Student Programming Council and Student Organizations Council are some of the most popular organizations and activities at FIU. There are honor societies and clubs as well.
