In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must major in accounting.
  3. Must be a resident of Massachusetts.
  4. Must be currently enrolled in a graduate program in accounting.
  5. Must be a U.S. citizen.

Description: Massachusetts residents enrolled full-time in a graduate program are eligible for this award. Students must demonstrate superior academic standing and financial need, and intend to pursue a career as a certified public accountant.

Additional Information: This scholarship is funded in part by the MSCPA Educational Foundation with contributions from public accounting firms.

Award Amount: Up to $10,000 offered.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $10,000.

Applications are available online on the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants, Inc. (MSCPA) website. Only one application is needed to apply for all MSCPA scholarships. In addition to the completed application, the applicant must submit the following: an official transcript; one letter of recommendation from an accounting professor; an essay of 200 words or less describing his/her career goals and why he/she feels he/she will be a successful CPA; and a copy of his/her FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) or other type of college loan application form, or his/her latest tax return. Please note: The FAFSA is available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov, at high school guidance offices, and at college financial aid offices. Completed application packets must be submitted online and must be received by the deadline date.
