Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually. An alternate will also be selected. If the winner should fail to meet the enrollment requirements, the award will be forfeited and awarded to an alternate.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a high school senior at the time of application.
  3. Must be a resident of Tennessee.
  4. Must plan to enroll full time at an accredited, four-year public college or university.
  5. Must graduate from Clinton High School.
  6. Must have a grade point average of 2.8 or higher.
  7. Must major in business, engineering, or a medical field.
  8. Must be a U.S. citizen.

Description: This award is available for high school seniors graduating from Clinton High School in Tennessee who plan to enroll full-time in a four-year college or university. Applicants must have a grade point average of 2.8 or higher and major in business, engineering, or a medical field.

Additional Information: The scholarship is named to honor Mr. and Mrs. Hollingsworth who placed a high value on encouraging and being supportive of family and friends in the community to pursue and achieve their dreams and goals. This four-year scholarship benefits high school graduates of Clinton High School who are seeking to continue their educations as business majors at accredited, not-for-profit, four-year colleges or universities. The recipient should show a significant degree of financial need. Preference will be given to applicants planning to attend school in Tennessee and work in the East Tennessee area following graduation. Factors to be considered by the selection committee will be: financial need; general aptitude for advanced educational work; evidence of participation in and service to the community; and the maturity and professionalism of the student, in that order of importance. The selection committee reserves the right to conduct brief interviews with finalists.

Award Amount: $1,000 per year for four years  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $4,000.

Prior to starting the application, students must obtain a copy of the East Tennessee Foundation scholarship guide and application instructions. The guide can be obtained online from the East Tennessee Foundation website. Students must review this guide in order to determine if additional supplementary materials may be required in order to complete the application. Applications must be completed online no later than the deadline date.
