Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  3. Must be a rising junior or senior.
  4. Must enroll full time (12+ credit hours) each semester and earn a minimum of 24 credit hours by the end of each academic year.
  5. Must meet admission requirements and be accepted to the University of North Florida (UNF).
  6. Must be a declared major in civil engineering.
  7. Must have earned a cumulative UNF grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  8. Must reside in Florida for tuition purposes.
  9. Must have graduated from a high school in one of these Florida counties: Baker, Clay, Duval, Nassau, or St. Johns.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is open to Florida residents who are rising juniors and seniors at the University of North Florida and graduated from a high school in select North Florida counties. Students must be majoring in civil engineering and have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

Additional Information: The University of North Florida's School of Engineering and Department of Construction Management are proud to offer this scholarship sponsored by Atkins Foundation. Atkins is one of the world's leading design, engineering and project management consultancies. Preference will be given to active members of the UNF student chapter of ASCE (American Society of Civil Engineers). Scholarship recipients must: maintain a grade point average of 3.0 or higher; remain in good standing as a student; comply with all University regulations, rules, and codes of conduct governing students on campus; and consent to release grades to the Division of Institutional Advancement for the purpose of reporting to the donor.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, renewable.The amount of the award will be determined by the fund manager, but it cannot exceed the maximum cost of tuition, books, campus housing, meal plan, transportation and miscellaneous expenses, as reflected in the annual "Cost of Education" budget prepared by the UNF Financial Aid Office.Current recipients may apply for renewal and will be given preference pending availability of funding and if the applicant continues to meet all selection criteria and responsibilities. No student will be eligible to receive more than four semesters of scholarship support.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.

The application deadline date has not yet been finalized for this year, but is expected to remain the same as last year. The deadline date shown here is tentative based on last year's date. Please check back after January 15, 2023 when next year's applications are expected to become available. Applications are available online on the University of North Florida (UNF) College of Computing, Engineering & Construction (CCEC) website. As part of the online application, the student must submit short essay answers (300 characters or less) describing his/her career interests, extracurricular activities, and work experience. The scholarship application must be completed online and submitted by the deadline date. Only electronic applications will be considered.
