Number of Awards & Eligibility: One scholarship will be provided each year.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must reside in and attend school in Chelan, Douglas, or Okanogan counties.
  2. Must be a graduating high school senior.
  3. Must plan to pursue a career in art.

Description: The Fern Cousineau Duncan Art Scholarship is available for graduating seniors in north central Washington (Chelan, Douglas, or Okanogan counties) who are planning to pursue a career in art.

Additional Information: The Fern Cousineau Duncan Art Scholarship is provided annually in honor of Fern Cousineau Duncan, an art teacher at Wenatchee High School from 1929 to 1959 who also taught at Wenatchee Valley College until her retirement. Scholarships are awarded to students who are planning to pursue a career in the visual arts, including but not limited to: ceramics, drawing, painting, or sculpture. Award selection is based primarily on the quality of each applicant's submitted portfolio pieces. The scholarship is administered by the Community Foundation of North Central Washington, a recognized charitable foundation that administers more than one hundred scholarships for students residing throughout Chelan, Douglas and Okanogan counties. Scholarship recipients will be notified in early May and will be required to provide additional documentation including the signed scholarship agreement and verification of enrollment.

Award Amount: $2,000 annually, non-renewable. All funds will be deposited directly with the school of the recipient's choice.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,000.
