Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually depending on funding.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  2. Must attend the George Mason University School of Information Technology and Engineering.
  3. Must plan to enroll in a technology discipline.
  4. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  5. Must be a college junior or senior at the time of application.

Description: This scholarship is available for U.S. and international students who are currently in their junior year at George Mason University. Students must major in a technology discipline and have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

Additional Information: This scholarship is offered through the School of Information Technology and Engineering for a third-year student pursuing a degree in one of technology disciplines. Each recipient is expected to maintain a professional affiliation with the NVTC (Northern Virginia Technology Council) through a summer internship.

Award Amount: $1,000 to $2,500 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,750.

To apply for this scholarship, the student must submit the George Mason University (GMU) Scholarship Application. This is the only application needed to be considered for most scholarships offered through the university. In addition to a completed application, the student must submit a current resume (covering the past three years) indicating experience (work and/or volunteer), memberships and/or affiliations, leadership experience, honors and awards, and significant contributions to the community; and a typed one- to two-page personal statement that should include a brief organized history of his/her background, educational and career goals. The applicant may also provide personal information that would assist the committee in the selection process and in understanding him/her as an individual. Please note: The student's most recent FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) must be completed and on file with the Office of Student Financial Aid by the deadline date in order to determine financial need. The FAFSA is available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov, at college financial aid offices, and at high school guidance offices. International students may submit a statement of financial need instead of the FAFSA. The completed application must be submitted to the GMU Office of Student Financial Aid at the address provided by the deadline date.
