In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  2. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  3. Must be a member of the IEEE Computer Society.
  4. Must enroll as a full-time student.
  5. Must be a high school senior or older to apply for this undergraduate or graduate award.
  6. Must be pursuing a career in the computing industry.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is for members of the IEEE Computer Society who currently have a 3.0 grade point average or higher. Applicants must be full-time undergraduate or graduate students pursuing a career in the computing industry.

Application requirements for the Upsilon Pi Epsilon Student Award for Academic Excellence are:

  • Official Transcript
Additional Information: The Executive Council of Upsilon Pi Epsilon (UPE) wishes to encourage academic excellence for students in the computing discipline. The UPE initiated this award with the IEEE Computer Society, as the largest association of computer professionals, to raise the importance of academic achievement in future computer professionals. Judging will be based on academic achievement, extracurricular activities related to the discipline of computing, and letters of recommendation.

Award Amount: Up to $3,000 scholarships offered  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $3,000.

Application information available on the IEEE Computer Society website by clicking on the 'Communities' tab from the website's homepage and then clicking on the 'Student Activities' tab. From there, the applicant should click on the link for 'Scholarships and Awards.' There is no application form for this award. To apply, the student must submit the information listed on the IEEE Computer Society website on a separate sheet of paper (typed.) In addition, the student must submit the following: three letters of recommendation; a certified copy of official academic transcripts for a minimum of the three previous academic school years; a statement of his/her participation in extracurricular activities relevant to the computing discipline; and a signed, dated statement that says, "To the best of my knowledge, all information provided above is accurate and correct.". The entry must be sent to the IEEE Computer Society in the form of a PDF (portable document format) file.
