Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  2. Must plan to enroll at NEC Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
  3. Must desire to pursue an associate's degree in applied science or a diploma in aviation maintenance technology.
  4. Must have a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or higher.
  5. Must be a high school senior at time of application.
  6. Must attend a college in Oklahoma.

Description: This scholarship is available for international and U.S. high school seniors who desire to pursue an associate's degree in applied science or a diploma in aviation maintenance technology at NEC Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Students must have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher.

Additional Information: The Tom Taylor Memorial Scholarship is to be awarded to an individual desiring to pursue an associate's degree in applied science or a diploma in aviation maintenance technology (AMT) at the Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology campus in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Please note: Applicants must not be currently enrolled in the AMT program at Spartan. Scholarship winners will be announced in April. Scholarships will be disbursed in July. The student may apply for as many scholarships as he/she wishes; only one application is necessary to apply for multiple AEA scholarships. However, each student is only eligible to receive one scholarship per academic year.

Award Amount: This award is valued at $35,000. It will cover all tuition expenses for eight quarters or until completion of a degree/program, whichever comes first. All other costs (books, tools, living expenses and student fees) will be the responsibility of the student.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $35,000.

Applications are available on the Aircraft Electronics Association (AEA) website. In addition to the completed application, the student must submit the following: an official transcript; answers to the two questions listed on the application; and a typed 300-word essay describing the knowledge and skill requirements avionics and aircraft maintenance managers are looking for in today's technicians. The application and all supporting materials must be submitted online and must be received by the deadline date. Transcripts sent separately will not be accepted.
