Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies and is dependent on funding and the number of qualified applicants.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  3. Must be a graduating high school senior or older to apply for this undergraduate award.
  4. Must have a grade point average of 2.7 or higher.
  5. Must major in biology, business, chemistry, computer science, engineering, finance, law, mathematics, or supply chain management.
  6. Must attend a historically black college or university (HBCU) or a UNCF-member institution. A listing of each is available online.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: U.S. high school seniors and undergraduate students who have a relative or sponsor working for the BASF Corporation are eligible for this award. Students must be enrolled in a HBCU/UNCF institute, have a grade point average of 2.7 or higher and be enrolled in an eligible major.

  • BASF relative/sponsor info
Additional Information: Eligible applicants must have relatives or sponsors employed by BASF Corporation.

Award Amount: Up to $6,000 annually, non-renewable. The recipient may re-apply annually for up to four years, as long as he/she continues to meet the criteria. The award amount will be need-based.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $6,000.

Applications are available online from the United Negro College Fund (UNCF) website. In order to access the application, the student must create a login using his/her email address and chosen password. In addition to the completed application, the student must submit his/her curriculum vitae/resume; most recent official transcript; a typed two-page, double-spaced personal statement of his/her future career goals as they relate to his/her field of study; and the contact information for two recommenders. The recommenders will be sent a notification using the email address provided by the applicant and asked to upload the letter of recommendation. If the applicant has a relative employed by BASF Corporation, he/she must list the relationship and provide the employee’s contact information. If the applicant is sponsored by a BASF Chemical Company employee, he/she must upload a completed Sponsorship form into the online application. All documents must be uploaded to the online application. Applications must be submitted by the deadline date.
