Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be a high school senior or previous graduate in the Shawnee Mission School District.
  2. This award is for U.S. students.
  3. Must be a graduating high school senior or undergraduate student at the time of application.
  4. Must be enrolled at or planning to enroll at Kansas State University.
  5. Must be majoring in education.

Description: The CBM Wildcat Education Scholarship Fund is available for graduating seniors and previous graduates of the Shawnee, Kansas school district. Applicants must attend or plan to attend Kansas State University and major in education. Applications will be available starting February 15th

Additional Information: The CBM Wildcat Education Scholarship Fund is available for graduating high school seniors and previous graduates of the Shawnee Mission School District. Applicants must be enrolled in or planning to enroll at Kansas State University and must be majoring in or planning to major in education. Award selection will be based on a combination of factors, including but not limited to the following: academic merit; financial need; and other application submissions. The administration and management of this scholarship is provided through the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation. Originally founded in 1978, the GKCCF was designed to provide a single point of support and professional charity organization for various charitable organizations throughout the local area. Over the years, the scope of this mission has expanded to include grants, scholarships, and other philanthropic initiatives within Kansas City, throughout the Midwest, and even nation-wide. Award Amount: $500 or more provided annually. Although awards are not automatically renewable, previous recipients are encouraged to reapply in future years.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $500.

Application instructions and additional information about the CBM Wildcat Education Scholarship Fund are available online at the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation (GKCCF) website. In addition to the completed online application form, applicants for this scholarship must submit the following: proof of financial need; transcripts or other records of academic performance that include a current or recent grade point average; and additional information about any leadership roles, community service, or volunteer efforts that may be pertinent to the award. Completed applications with all supporting documents must be received no later than the deadline date. Late and incomplete submissions will not be considered.
