Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of scholarships awarded will be at the discretion of the Board of Directors based on their review of funding levels.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a resident of Florida.
  3. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  4. Must be a graduating high school senior, current undergraduate student, or a graduate student.
  5. Special consideration will be given to students planning to pursue a career in Real Estate or allied fields, including, but not limited to, Real Estate Brokerage, Real Estate Finance, Real Estate Management, Real Estate Development, Real Estate Appraisal, Real Estate Planning, and Real Estate Law.

Description: High school seniors who are residents of Florida are eligible to apply for this scholarship sponsored by the Florida Realtors Education Foundation.

Additional Information: Academic achievements, financial need, relationship to the Realtor family, sincerity of purpose in real estate and allied endeavors, contributions to family, school, and community, will be considered in the selection process. A candidate should be either currently enrolled in a real estate or real estate-related program or document his/her intent to enroll in such a program within one year of the application deadline. There will be no limitations as to location of the college or university attended provided the applicant indicates his/her intent to return to work in Florida after graduation. In late April, a panel of district judges will choose the top applications from each of the Florida Association of Realtors (FAR) 13 regional districts. The 13 district-level winning applications will go on to compete for the 3 state awards. A panel of experts will judge the district winning applications to determine the three state winners. Students who win the three state-level scholarship awards will receive individual notification either prior to or during FAR's annual Convention & Trade Expo in August. Their schools will also be notified at that time.

Award Amount: $1,000 to $4,000 annually, renewable for one additional year. A maximum of $2,000 will be awarded to recipients attending two-year colleges. The scholarship will be sent directly to the college or university which must be accredited by the appropriate accrediting bodies.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $4,000.
