Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must attend a college or university in Hawai'i.
  3. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  4. Must major in business administration.
  5. Must be a resident of Hawaii.
  6. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  7. Must be a full-time student (12 credits per semester).
  8. Must be a college senior at time of application.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is available for college seniors who are residents of and attend college in Hawaii. Students must be majoring in business administration and have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

Additional Information: This scholarship was established in 2003 by Pacific Business News to provide scholarships to college seniors majoring in Business Administration at a 4-year college or university in Hawaii. All applicants for this award must demonstrate financial need and good moral character. Recipients will be notified after the scholarship selection committees meet, which could be any time between May and August.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, non-renewable. Students may reapply each year.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.

Online application forms are available on the Hawai'i Community Foundation website. The student should visit the Hawai'i Community Foundation's website for detailed instructions on how to complete the online application. In addition to the online application form, the student must submit the following supporting materials: the printed confirmation page that is generated after applying online; a typed, double-spaced personal statement of two to three pages answering the questions listed online; an official copy of his/her most recent transcript; and a copy of his/her SAR (Student Aid Report). The SAR is obtained by filing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). The FAFSA is available online, at high school guidance offices, and at college financial aid offices. For this scholarship, the student should include in his/her personal statement why he/she has chosen business as an intended career and how he/she expects to make a difference in the business world. A student will not be able to submit his/her application until all required supporting documents are electronically attached to the application. Applications must be submitted by 4 p.m. HST on the deadline date.
