Women's Transportation Seminar - Portland Chapter

Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must attend a college in Oregon, or must have graduated from a high school in Oregon.
  2. Must be female.
  3. Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.
  4. Must be a graduate student at the time of application.
  5. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  6. Must be majoring in transportation or a related field.
  7. This award is for U.S. students.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is available for U.S. graduate students who are majoring in a field related to transportation. Applicants must be female, must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher, and must reside in Oregon and southwest Washington.

Additional Information: The Women's Transportation Seminar (WTS) fosters the development of women and girls in the transportation field by encouraging bright new professionals and students to undertake careers in the area of transportation. Presentation of awards will occur during the December Winter Gala - recipients are strongly encouraged to attend.

Award Amount: $3,500 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $3,500.

Applications and information about this award are available online at the Portland Chapter of the Women's Transportation Seminar website. The website may be accessed using the link provided. To be considered for this award, applicants must submit the following items: A completed application form, saved and submitted electronically as a WORD .doc or .docx file; a copy of official transcripts; a personal statement of up to 1,000 words describing the applicant's interests in transportation, relevant experience, and how the award will contribute to the applicant's ability to create an impact on the industry; and a letter of recommendation. All students must submit all applications and supporting documents as email attachments saved in Microsoft Office Word format (.doc or .docx). All applications and supporting documents must be received by the provided deadline date.
