Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of recipients for this program varies according to the number of college students meeting the eligibility requirements in any given year.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must have indicated interest in pursuing or continuing to pursue a career in association management.
  2. This award is for U.S. students.
  3. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  4. Must be a legal resident of the state of Illinois.
  5. Must be a graduating high school senior or currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program.
  6. This is an undergraduate and/or graduate award.
  7. Must attend a college or university in Illinois.

Additional Information: The Illinois Real Estate Educational Foundation (ILREEF) is a not-for-profit organization established to aid and promote real estate education throughout Illinois. Bob Cook, CAE served as the executive vice president and chief governmental lobbyist for the Illinois Association of Realtors from 1956 to 1984, marking a time of growth and expansion for the association. Under Mr. Cook's leadership, the Illinois Association of REALTORS grew from 2,200 members and a $20,000 annual budget to more than 23,000 members and a $3 million budget. In addition, Mr. Cook was instrumental in the founding of the Realtors Political Action Committee of Illinois and the Realtors Institute of Illinois, and was a guiding force in the development of a myriad of other association services, including professional liability insurance. He was a driving force in the founding of the office of real estate research at the University of Illinois, and in the formation of the Real Estate Educational Foundation (REEF).

Award Amount: $1,500 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,500.

Applications are available online on the Illinois Real Estate Educational Foundation (ILREEF) website. In addition to the completed application, the student must submit a statement indicating his/her interest in pursuing a career in association management, an explanation of the scholarship's intended use, and three letters of recommendation from individuals listed on the application. The application and all supporting materials must be submitted online by the deadline date.
