Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards varies annually. In past years, four scholarships were provided.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be female.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.
  3. This award is for U.S. students.
  4. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  5. Must be majoring in a STEM or technology field.
  6. Must be an undergraduate student at the time of application.
  7. Must attend a college or university in California.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: The Advancing Women in Technology Scholarship Program is available for women in California who are majoring in a STEM or technology field such as science, math, engineering, or computer science. Applicants must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

Additional Information: The Advancing Women in Technology (AWT) Charitable Foundation awards annual scholarships to help women who are dedicated to advancing their education in a technological field of study. The purpose of the scholarships is to advance diversity within the technology industry by enhancing the opportunities for women to enter the field through education, personal and professional growth, as well as the development of mentoring relationships in the technology community.

Award Amount: Up to $5,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $5,000.

Applications and additional information about this award can be found online at the Advancing Women in Technology website. To be considered, students must complete an online application form that includes personal, academic, and professional information about the student. Applicants must also submit two short personal statements of between 400 and 800 words in length that address two of the four topics listed on the application form. All applications and supporting documents must be submitted online and must be received no later than the deadline date.
