  2. Must be pursuing a doctoral degree at the time of application.
  3. Must be majoring in criminal justice, criminology, or a related subject.
  4. Must be a member of an underrepresented minority group.

Additional Information: The American Society of Criminology provides the Ruth Peterson Fellowship for Racial and Ethnic Diversity to encourage students of color to enter the field of criminology and criminal justice.

Award Amount: $6,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $6,000.

Application information is available on the American Society of Criminology website at the URL listed above. To apply for this award, students must submit the following items: proof of enrollment in a criminal justice, criminology, or related program of doctoral studies; a recent curriculum vitae; indication of the applicant's racial identification; copies of undergraduate and graduate transcripts; a financial statement covering unmet need and other sources of funding; a letter describing the applicant's career plans and interest in criminology; and three letters of recommendation.
