Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must seek a degree in law enforcement in order to become a police officer.
  3. Must be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen.
  4. Must be a resident of Vermont.
  5. Must be an incoming or current undergraduate or graduate student.
  6. Must demonstrate academic achievement.

Description: This scholarship is available for Vermont students who are seeking a degree in law enforcement. Students must demonstrate academic achievement and financial need.

Application requirements for the Vermont Sheriffs’ Association Scholarship are:

  • Essay
  • FAFSA
  • Application form
  • Official Transcript
Additional Information: Applicants must attend or plan to attend an accredited postsecondary school approved for federal Title IV funding, and must demonstrate financial need. Selection is based on application documents, academic achievement, and financial need. There are approximately 43 applicants for this award each year.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.
