Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  3. Must be 18 to 35 years of age.
  4. Must be skilled in and devoted to a conservative or classical art tradition. The purpose of the scholarship, in accordance with the clear stipulation of the Staceys' will, is to foster high standard in the study of form, color, drawing, painting, design, and technique, as these are expressed in modes showing patent affinity with the classical tradition of western culture.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Additional Information: Notification will be emailed to applicants by April 1. Check(s) will be mailed to winner(s) by May 1.

Award Amount: $500 - $5,000  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $5,000.

Applications are available on the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum website. Each student must upload four to six images representing the best examples of his/her artwork to the online application. Suggested subject categories for samples are as follows: painting from life; drawing from the figure (nude); composition; landscape. Students are not required to submit examples from each category, and may also submit samples in any category which he/she feels is advisable. It is very important that the images of paintings reproduce the tonal values correctly. Applications are accepted until the deadline date of Feb. 1.
