In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be enrolled or planning to enroll as a full-time student at an accredited two- or four-year college or university.
  3. Must pursue a course of study in the field of graphic communications.
  4. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  5. Must be a high school senior, a high school graduate who has not started college, or an undergraduate college student at time of application.
  6. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

Description: This is an undergraduate award for U.S. students who are high school seniors or currently enrolled in an accredited college or university. Application requirements for the Print and Graphics Scholarship Foundation Program are:

  • Recommendation letters (2)
  • Test scores
  • Stamped envelope
  • Photocopy
Additional Information: Scholarship candidates are judged on the basis of their academic records; rank in class; recommendations offered from instructors, advisors, and employers; biographical records, which indicate academic honors; and extracurricular interests. Scholarship winners will be notified by letter in June or July. Each scholarship award becomes official when the winner returns a form, which confirms enrollment in an approved college and the student's signature verifying acceptance of the scholarship.

Award Amount: $1,000 to $5,000 annually, renewable for three years. Each recipient must maintain a 3.0 grade point average, continue attending the school in which he/she originally enrolled, and continue to major in graphic communications. In addition to the scholarship amount, each recipient will also receive an honorary membership to the Graphic Arts Technical Foundation.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $5,000.

Applications are available online from the Print & Graphics Scholarship Foundation (PGSF) website. In addition to the completed application, each student must submit his/her official high school/college transcripts, two or more recommendation forms completed by one of his/her employers or school representatives, a photocopy of his/her intended course of study, and a number 10 self-addressed stamped envelope (for notification of final standing). Each high school student is also required to submit ACT and SAT scores. If the scores appear on his/her transcripts, then it is not necessary to submit another copy. All applications and supporting materials must be submitted online by the deadline date.
