Number of Awards & Eligibility: Up to four awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  2. Must be a full-time student.
  3. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  4. Must be enrolled in a program related to the coated paper and paperboard or the graphic arts industries.
  5. Must be a TAPPI student member or a member of a TAPPI student chapter, if available.
  6. Must have achieved a class level of junior or higher with graduate students eligible prior to doctoral candidacy.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is available for international and U.S. college juniors, seniors, and graduate students who are enrolled in a program related to the coated paper and paperboard or the graphic arts industries. Students must be student members of TAPPI or a TAPPI student chapter, if available, and have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

Additional Information: The Coating and Graphic Arts Division provides up to four $1000 scholarships for students majoring in scientific or technical disciplines related to the manufacture and/or graphic arts use of coated paper and paperboard.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $4,000.

Applications are available online on the Technical Association for the Pulp, Paper, and Converting Industry (TAPPI) website under the 'Honors' tab. A complete application package must include the following: a completed 'Scholarship Checklist'; a completed 'General Information Form' (only one form needs to be submitted to apply for multiple scholarships); an official transcript; letters of recommendation from faculty members as required by each particular division's scholarship; and additional letters of recommendation from persons (other than relatives) who are familiar with the applicant's character, interests in the industries served by TAPPI in accordance with each particular division's scholarship, school activities, leadership roles, and educational accomplishments. The application and all additional materials must be sent to TAPPI either by mail or email and be received by the deadline date. If applying by mail, the student's school must send the transcript directly to TAPPI. If applying by email, all additional documents may be scanned and emailed.
