Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  3. Must attend or plan to attend an accredited four-year college or university.
  4. Must possess an active amateur radio license.
  5. Must reside in central Florida (Orange, Seminole, Osceola, Lake, Volusia, Brevard, and Polk counties). If no suitable candidate is identified from that region, residents of the state of Florida will be considered.
  6. Must study in a technical field.
  7. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher in high school or for the previous undergraduate year.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: The Wayne Nelson, KB4UT, Memorial Scholarship is provided to U.S. students who are licensed radio amateurs and reside in central Florida (Orange, Seminole, Osceola, Lake, Volusia, Brevard, and Polk counties); second preference will go to Florida residents. Students must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher from the previous high school or undergraduate year.

Additional Information: The Wayne Nelson, KB4UT, Memorial Scholarship is provided for licensed radio amateurs in central Florida who have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher. If no qualified applicants are found from central Florida, applications from elsewhere in Florida will be considered. Recipients are typically notified by mid-May by USPS mail and email.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.
