Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  3. Must be a graduating high school senior to apply for this freshman year award.
  4. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  5. Must enroll full time.
  6. Must have a passion for both the humanities and the sciences as demonstrated through either extracurricular activities or academic motivation.
  7. Must have demonstrated selflessness through either extracurricular activities or through daily interactions with individuals in the community.
  8. Must graduate from the Huntington Beach High School District in California.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is for graduating high school seniors who attend a high school in the Huntington Beach High School District. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher and demonstrate an interest in sciences and humanities.

Additional Information: Must be a mentor or a tutor and be self-motivated.

Award Amount: $2,500 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,500.

Applications are available from the Orange County Community Foundation website and must be completed online. Each applicant must create an account using his/her username, chosen password, name and email address. In addition to a completed application, the applicant must submit his/her expected family contribution (found on the SAR received after submitting the FAFSA); the name and email address of his/her counselor or school staff member who is authorized to verify his/her grade point average; information regarding his/her or his/her parents' income tax return; a general essay (no more than 600 words) on the topic listed within the application; and the name and email address of two recommenders. The student will have the option to complete additional essays within the application based on his/her interests and/or experiences. Students must file the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) by the deadline date. The FAFSA is available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov, at high school guidance offices, and at college financial aid offices. Applications must be submitted by 5 p.m. on the deadline date.
