Number of Awards & Eligibility: Up to four scholarships provided annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be a high school senior or college transfer student at the time of application.
  2. Must be planning to major in economics, accounting, or finance.
  3. This award is for U.S. students.
  4. Must be a resident of Dutchess County, New York.
  5. Must plan to attend a college or university in the state of New York.
  6. Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.

Description: This award is available for current high school seniors and undergraduate students who are residents of Dutchess County, New York. Applicants must be majoring in or planning to major in economics, accounting, or finance.

Additional Information: The Chamber Foundation Inc. announces the availability of the Steven and Linda Lant Family Scholarship. This fund has been established by the Lant Family to support students pursuing undergraduate education at an accredited bachelors degree program with a major in Finance, Accounting or Economics at a New York State college. The Lant Family has established this scholarship to support students with the motivation, work ethic, and academic skills necessary to succeed at college and in the work force. Financial need is considered. Up to four scholarships will be awarded each year.

Award Amount: Up to $2,500 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,500.

Applications are available online from the Community Foundation of Hudson Valley website at the address provided. In addition to the completed application, each applicant must submit two letters of recommendation (one academic and one personal); a copy of his/her most recent transcript; a copy of the student's Student Aid Report (SAR) and Expected Family Contribution (EFC) information; and an essay of approximately 500 words responding to the prompt listed on the application. The Student Aid Report (SAR) is obtained by filing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). The FAFSA is available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov, at high school guidance offices, and at college financial aid offices. Applications must be completed online by the deadline date.
