Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be a current undergraduate student.
  2. Must be currently enrolled in an engineering or engineering technology curriculum which has been accredited by the Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology (or comparable accreditation in Canada and Mexico) and have an interest in railway engineering.
  3. Must have a grade point average of 2.0 or higher.
  4. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  5. Must be female.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: Undergraduate women who are majoring in engineering are eligible for this award. Students must have a grade point average of 2.0 or higher and have an interest in railway engineering.

  • Recommendation letter
  • Application form
  • Official Transcript
  • Resume
  • Cover letter
Additional Information: The AREMA Women's Engineering Scholarship is sponsored by Larry and Teresa Etherton and is provided annually to an undergraduate woman who is majoring in engineering and planning to specialize or pursue a career in the railway industry.

Award Amount: $1,500 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,500.
