Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must major in aerospace or aeronautical engineering.
  3. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  4. Must be recommended by a current Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA), Inc. member or be a current, active member of the EAA in order to receive this scholarship. The applicant may apply for membership in the EAA before submitting his/her scholarship application, and must remain an active member from the date of the scholarship application through the date it is awarded.
  5. Must be a college junior or senior during the time that the scholarship is used.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is available for U.S. college juniors and seniors who are majoring in aerospace or aeronautical engineering. Students must be recommended by a current Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA), Inc. member or be a current, active member of the EAA in order to receive this scholarship.

Additional Information: The student must be well-rounded, and involved in school, community and aviation activities. His/her academic record should show that he/she can successfully complete the educational activity for which he/she is requesting the scholarship.

Award Amount: $5000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $5,000.

Online application forms are available on the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) Aviation Foundation, Inc. website. As part of the application, the student must write a personal statement of 500 words or less addressing the items listed on the application, and submit contact information for two references (not family members) who familiar with his/her scholastic performance and/or work and volunteer activities. Students may also be requested to provide official high school and/or college transcripts. Applications must be received by the deadline date.
