Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be a licensed radio amateur (any class license).
  2. Must attend a college/university located in the ARRL Central Division area (IL, IN, WI).
  3. Must be a member of ARRL.
  4. Must reside in the area of the ARRL Central Division (IL, IN, WI).
  5. Must major in electrical engineering.
  6. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  7. Must be pursuing a bachelor's degree or higher.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is for a licensed radio amateur (any class license) who is a resident of and attends college in Illinois, Indiana, or Wisconsin. The applicant must be majoring in electrical engineering and must be a member of the ARRL.

Additional Information: The Edmond A. Metzger Scholarship is provided annually to a student who has an active amateur radio license. Preference is given to students residing in the ARRL Central Division (IL, IN, WI). Recipients are typically notified by mid-May by USPS mail and email.

Award Amount: $500 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $500.

Applications are available on the American Radio Relay League (ARRL) Foundation website. Applications must be completed online. Students need only submit one application for all scholarships for which they are eligible. The student must provide contact information for one educational reference, one character reference, and one social and submitted as a PDF. Reference on the online application.
