Number of Awards & Eligibility: Five to ten awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  2. Must be a female.
  3. Must plan to major in engineering at an ABET-accredited institution. A list of ABET-accredited institutions and majors is available online at main.abet.org/aps/Accreditedprogramsearch.aspx.
  4. Must be a high school senior at time of application.
  5. Must reside in areas with zip codes beginning 177-187 and 195-196 in Pennsylvania.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is available for current female high school seniors who are residents of select Pennsylvania counties. The applicant must plan to major in an ABET-accredited engineering field.

Application requirements for the Lehigh Valley Section Engineering Scholarship are:

Additional Information: Evaluation is based on academic achievement, extracurricular and leadership activities, a recommendation, and an original essay. Scholarship recipients will be notified by April 6. Recipients will be invited to attend the annual banquet on May 3, where they will be formally presented with the awards.

Award Amount: Up to $5,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $5,000.

Applications are available online from the Society of Women Engineers-Lehigh Valley Section website and must be completed online. A completed scholarship application will include the following: an essay form including her response to the essay topic prompt; an activity form describing her extracurricular activities; a recommendation form completed by teacher or mentor with whom she has worked within the past two years; and a copy of her most recent high school transcript saved in the transcript form. Students may also submit the optional acceptance form to include a letter of acceptance to college (if not currently enrolled); and a supplemental form to cover any information not already addressed in other parts of the application. These supporting documents must be saved in PDF format using the file names described on the application information page. All submissions must be completed online no later than the deadline date.
