Number of Awards & Eligibility: One scholarship will be provided annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be planning to major in business, chemistry, engineering, mathematics, or physics.
  2. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  3. Must be a resident of and attend high school in Ventura County, California.
  4. Must be a graduating high school senior at the time of application.

Description: The Semtech Scholarship is available for graduating high school seniors in Ventura County, CA who are planning to major in business, chemistry, engineering, mathematics, or physics. Applicants must have unmet financial need and a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

Additional Information: The Semtech Scholarship is provided annually through a partnership with the Ventura County Community Foundation. Awards will be provided to local area high school seniors who are planning to major in one of the eligible fields of study. Additional preference will be given to female applicants as well as students who have been in foster care in Ventura County. All applicants must demonstrate high levels of academic achievement and unmet financial need.

Applications for and additional details about the Semtech Scholarship are available online at the Ventura County Community Foundation website. To apply for this scholarship, students must complete all sections of the online application form. Applicants must also submit an original essay in response to the award's topic, as well as two letters of recommendation. At least one letter of recommendation must be submitted by a current faculty member at the school the student is attending. All applications and supporting documents must be received by the deadline date.
