Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  3. Must meet admission requirements and be accepted to the University of North Florida (UNF).
  4. Must be enrolled in UNF's College of Computing, Engineering & Construction (CCEC).
  5. Must be a current undergraduate student.
  6. Must be a female.
  7. Must be an active member of the UNF Student Chapter of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE).
  8. Must enroll full time (12 or more credit hours) each semester. A senior who will graduate at the end of the semester and who is otherwise eligible may be awarded the scholarship for less than 12 credit hours.

Description: This scholarship is open to students at the University of North Florida who are enrolled in the College of Computing, Engineering & Construction. Students must be members of the UNF chapter of the Society of Women Engineers, and must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

Additional Information: The University of North Florida's College of Computing, Engineering & Construction is proud to offer this scholarship sponsored by Dawn Blackledge. Dawn Blackledge is president and founder of Aerostar Environmental Services, Inc., a multidisciplined engineering and environmental consulting firm she founded in 1992. Preference will be given to applicants who are returning, non-traditional students and/or have demonstrated financial need by filing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). The FAFSA is available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov, at high school guidance offices, and at college financial offices. Students who are not applying on a financial need basis are not required to file a FAFSA. Scholarship recipients must: maintain a grade point average of 3.0 or higher; remain in good standing as a student; comply with all University regulations, rules, and codes of conduct governing students on campus; and consent to release grades to the Division of Institutional Advancement for the purpose of reporting to the donor.

Award Amount: $2,400 annually, renewable.The amount of the award will be determined by the fund manager, but it cannot exceed the maximum cost of tuition, books, campus housing, meal plan, transportation and miscellaneous expenses, as reflected in the annual "Cost of Education" budget prepared by the UNF Financial Aid Office.Current recipients may apply for renewal and will be given preference pending availability of funding and if the applicant continues to meet all selection criteria and responsibilities. No student will be eligible to receive more than eight semesters of scholarship support.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,400.
