In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. and international students.
  2. Must attend Bucknell University.
  3. Must plan on majoring in visual or performing arts (music, theatre, dance, art/art history and creative writing).
  4. Must maintain satisfactory academic standing.
  5. Must be a high school senior or applying for admission to Bucknell University as a transfer student.

Additional Information: This award recognizes applicants with extraordinary talents in performing arts selected by faculty members through auditions. Awards are available for the following areas: music, theatre, dance, art/art history and creative writing. The award recipients must meet Bucknell's academic expectations as well as participate in their respective departments' programs.

Award Amount: $2,500 to $20,000 annually, renewable for an additional three years.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $20,000.

Students applying to Bucknell University must complete a College Scholarship Service (CSS) Profile at www.collegeboard.com using Bucknell's CSS code of 2050. CSS Profiles must be complete by Nov. 15 for early decision consideration, or Jan. 15 for regular decision. Upon application and enrollment in the university, students must complete and file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by May 1. The FAFSA is available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov, at high school guidance offices, and at college financial aid offices. By May 10, students must complete and submit the following documentation: signed copy of all pages and schedules of parents' prior year federal income tax return; Copies of all parents' W-2 and 1099 forms; Signed copy of all pages and schedules of student's most recent federal income tax return; Entrance Loan Counseling for the Federal Direct Loan; and the Master Promissory Note (MPN) for the Federal Direct Loan program. Students who complete the financial aid process by the listed deadline dates will be considered for a variety of financial assistance programs and scholarships. Students selected for consideration in the Arts Merit Scholarship program will also be required to audition their work for a faculty panel.
