Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be majoring in theater and entertainment technology.
  2. Must be a college freshman or sophomore at the time of application.
  3. Must have a grade point average of 2.0 or higher.
  4. Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.
  5. This award is for U.S. students.
  6. Must attend Florida State College at Jacksonville (FSCJ).

Description: This scholarship is available for college freshman and sophomore students at FSCJ who are enrolled in the theater and entertainment technology program. Applicants must have a grade point average of 2.0 or higher.

Additional Information: Provided each year in honor of Lyle Rhines, this scholarship is awarded to an undergraduate FSCJ student who is pursuing a two-year degree in the theater technician program. Applicants must have a grade point average of 2.0 or higher.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.

To apply, students must complete the online scholarship application form. The form can be accessed through the student's web account by clicking on the 'Scholarships' link in the right side of his/her homepage. To be considered for the Lyle Rhines Theatre Technology Scholarship, students must also submit a letter of recommendation from an FSCJ Entertainment Technology faculty member. All students seeking FSCJ financial aid must file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by the deadline date. The FAFSA is available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov, at high school guidance offices, and at college financial aid offices. All applications must be completed online by the deadline date to ensure consideration for the upcoming semester.
