Additional Information: Each student applying for an FBEF Scholarship/Loan may be considered for one of five special scholarships if the FBEF Board of Trustees determines the student's educational or work experience makes him/her an exemplary candidate. Students who have already worked in Florida banking for five years or more can apply for grant funding at the freshmen and sophomore level. The FBEF Scholarship/Loan will be paid, in full, by FBEF after all requirements are met by the student, the most important of which is the forgiveness requirement. All scholarship/loan recipients are required to work full time at a Florida, FDIC-insured financial institution for one year following graduation. At the end of the first year of employment, the student's loan is forgiven. If a student decides not to work in Florida banking after graduation, it is then his/her responsibility to repay the loan.

Award Amount: The amount of the FBEF Scholarship is based on the number of semesters the student has remaining until graduation. Awards generally range from $500 to $5,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $50,000.
