Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. and international students.
  2. Must be a single parent, or a citizen of a country other than the United States, Mexico, or Canada.
  3. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  4. Must enroll in a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester.
  5. Must plan to attend Minot State University in Minot, North Dakota.
  6. Must be a graduate student at the time of application.
  7. Must be majoring in communications.
  8. Must plan to attend a college or university in North Dakota.

Description: This scholarship is available to graduate students in the Communications Department at Minot State University in Minot, North Dakota. Students must be single parents or citizens of a country other than the United States, Canada, or Mexico.

Additional Information: This scholarship is provided each year in honor of Audrey Lunday, professor emeritus, who taught speech-language pathology for 39 years at MSU.

Award Amount: Approximately $2,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $4,000.

Applications are available online on the Minot State University (MSU) website. The student must submit a separate scholarship application for this award. Please note: This scholarship is only available to students who have been admitted to the MSU graduate school; provisionally admitted students are not eligible. Admission information is available on the MSU website. Students must apply online. In addition to the online admissions application, the student must also submit the following: a statement of purpose; health record/proof of immunizations; official transcripts from all previous colleges and universities; and an application fee of $35. International students must submit additional materials as detailed on the MSU website. All applications must be received by the deadline date.
