Number of Awards & Eligibility: Thirty scholarships offered to ethnic minority students.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a member of one of the following ethnic groups: African American, Asian Pacific American, Hispanic or Native American.
  3. Must be enrolled as a full-time student, carrying a total of 12 units or more per semester/quarter at an accredited university/college.
  4. Must have a grade point average of 3.2 or higher.
  5. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  6. Must major in a field of study that has an emphasis in public relations, marketing or advertising.
  7. Must be currently enrolled in a graduate program, with a minimum of two academic semesters left to complete the master's degree, at time of application.

Description: This award is available for U.S. graduate students with a grade point average of 3.2 or higher who are of either African American, Asian/Pacific, Hispanic, or Native American heritage. The applicant must major in a field of study that has an emphasis on public relations, marketing or advertising.

Additional Information: If selected as a finalist, the applicant must provide official transcripts. Each recipient must attend The Lagrant Foundation's (TLF) career development workshop and awards reception to receive the scholarship. TLF incurs the costs associated with the trip. In addition, the applicant must make a one-year commitment to maintain contact with TLF to receive professional guidance and academic support.

Award Amount: $2,500 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $75,000.

Applications are available on The Lagrant Foundation (TLF) website. In addition to the completed application, the student must submit the following materials: a resume; an unofficial transcript; a one- to two-page, typed essay addressing the topic listed on the application; a brief paragraph explaining college and/or community activities in which he/she is involved; a brief paragraph describing any awards or honors he/she has received; and a letter of reference from a college professor or internship adviser.If the applicant does not think his/her grade point average accurately reflects his/her scholastic capability and achievement, then he/she should also draft an essay no longer than one page explaining the discrepancy.The application and supporting materials must be received by 5 p.m. PST on the deadline date; any applications postmarked on or after the application deadline date will not be accepted.
