Number of Awards & Eligibility: 14 awards offered annually. One monetary award will be offered for each scholarship.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must pursue one of the following degrees in nursing: Bachelor of Science in Nursing; Associate Degree in Nursing; Licensed Practical Nurse; or Licensed Vocational Nurse.
  3. Must be an African American.
  4. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  5. Must be a member of NBNA and a member of a local chapter (if one exists in his/her area).
  6. Must be currently enrolled in a nursing program and have one or more full years of classes left.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

  • Recommendation letters (2)
Additional Information: Applicants must have a minimum of one full year of school remaining and be in good scholastic standing at the time of application.

Award Amount: Awards range from $1,000 to $6,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $3,500.
