Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually depending on annual funding levels. Last year, four scholarships were awarded.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must pursue an engineering degree through an ABET-accredited program. A list of accredited programs is available online at main.abet.org/aps/Accreditedprogramsearch.aspx.
  2. Must be a student member of the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) who actively supports SAE and its programs.
  3. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  4. Must be a college junior at time of application.

Description: International and U.S. junior students who are members of the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) are eligible for this scholarship. Students must pursue an engineering degree through an ABET-accredited program.

Additional Information: Established in 1994, this scholarship recognizes outstanding SAE student members who actively support SAE and its activities. It is awarded purely on the basis of the student's support for SAE and its programs, the Collegiate Chapter or the local SAE Section and its activities. Scholarship recipients will be notified by June 30. All SAE scholarship winners will be posted in July/August.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $4,000.

Applications are available online from the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) website by clicking on the "Senior Year of College Scholarships" link. In addition to the completed application, the student must submit an official college transcript. All applications and supporting materials must be submitted online by the deadline.
