Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen.
  3. Must be a high school senior who plans to seek a bachelor's degree.
  4. Must plan to enroll on a full-time basis.
  5. Must reside in one of the following Vermont cities: Andover, Ascutney, Athens, Baltimore, Bellows Falls, Bridgewater, Cavendish, Chester, Grafton, Hartland, Londonderry, Ludlow, Perkinsville, Plymouth, Pomfret, Reading, Rockingham, Saxton's River, Springfield, Weathersfield, Westminster, Westminster West, Weston, West Windsor, Windsor, or Woodstock.
  6. Must demonstrate community involvement/service that is specifically related to preserving and/or conserving the environment.
  7. Must demonstrate academic achievement.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is available for high school seniors who reside in selected Vermont cities and demonstrate academic achievement. Students must demonstrate community involvement/service that is specifically related to preserving and/or conserving the environment.

Application requirements for the Ascutney Mountain Audubon Society Scholarship are:

  • Essay
  • Interview
  • Recommendation letter
  • Application form
  • Official Transcript
Additional Information: This scholarship is funded by an endowment subject to laws restricting disbursements under certain investment yield scenarios; as a result, there can be no guarantee of a scholarship award for the upcoming academic year. Applicants must attend an accredited school approved for federal Title IV funding. Selection is based on essays, recommendation letter, academic achievement, and a personal interview (if necessary). There are approximately 50 applicants for this award each year.

Award Amount: Up to $1,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.
