Number of Awards & Eligibility: 10 awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a graduating high school senior at Leilehua High School in Wahiawa, HI; Mililani High School in Mililani, HI; or Waialua High School in Waialua, HI.
  3. Must be a resident of Hawaii.
  4. Must demonstrate academic achievement with a grade point average of 2.7 or higher.
  5. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  6. Must plan to attend an accredited two- or four-year college or university as a full-time student (12 credits per semester).
  7. Preference is given to students majoring in a high technology field such as science or engineering.
  8. Must be a high school senior at time of application.

Description: This scholarship is available for Hawaii high school seniors who are attending Leilehua High School, Mililani High School, or Waialua High School and have a grade point average of 2.7 or higher. Preference will be given to students who are planning to major in a high technology field such as science or engineering.

Additional Information: Castle & Cooke Properties created this fund when they built the Mililani Technology Park as a way of recognizing outstanding students from Central O'ahu and to encourage studies in high technology fields. All applicants for this award must demonstrate financial need and good moral character. Recipients will be notified after the scholarship selection committees meet, which could be any time between May and August.

Award Amount: Approximately $1,000 annually, non-renewable. Students may reapply each year.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $10,000.

Online application forms are available on the Hawai'i Community Foundation website. The student should visit the Hawai'i Community Foundation's website for detailed instructions on how to complete the online application. In addition to the online application form, the student must submit the following supporting materials: the printed confirmation page that is generated after applying online; a typed, double-spaced personal statement of two to three pages answering the questions listed on the website; an official copy of his/her most recent transcript; and a copy of his/her SAR (Student Aid Report). The SAR is obtained by filing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). The FAFSA is available online, at high school guidance offices, and at college financial aid offices. Note: Students WILL NOT be able to submit their application until all required supporting documents are electronically attached to the application. The application must be submitted by 4 p.m. HST on the deadline date.
