Number of Awards & Eligibility: One scholarship will be provided each year.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must have a grade point average of 2.8 or higher.
  2. Must be a graduating high school senior or undergraduate student.
  3. Must be majoring in math, science, or engineering.
  4. Must be a resident of Ventura County, California.

Description: The David G. Casavan Memorial Scholarship Fund is available for graduating high school seniors and undergraduate students who reside in Ventura County. Applicants must be majoring in engineering, math or science at a California community college or university.

Additional Information: Provided through the Ventura County Community Foundation, the David G. Casavan Memorial Scholarship Fund awards annual scholarships to local area students who are attending a community college or university in the state of California. Applicants must be currently graduating high school or enrolled in an undergraduate program and must demonstrate academic potential.

Award Amount: $700 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $700.

Applications for and additional details about the David G. Casavan Memorial Scholarship Fund are available online at the Ventura County Community Foundation website. To apply for an award, students must complete all sections of the online application form. Applicants must also submit an original essay in response to the award's topic, as well as two letters of recommendation. At least one letter of recommendation must be submitted by a current faculty member at the school the student is attending. All applications and supporting documents must be received by the deadline date.
