Number of Awards & Eligibility: Four awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must have graduated from an accredited public, private or parochial high school (or equivalent) prior to 2015.
  3. Must plan to enroll full time at an accredited college or university.
  4. Must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. citizen national, or permanent resident.
  5. Must be a member, or the child/grandchild of a member, of the Federation of American Consumers and Travelers (FACT). If the applicant is not yet a member, he/she must join to participate in FACT's Scholarship Program. The annual membership fee is $36.
  6. Must not have attended school as a full-time student since 2015.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is for U.S. college freshmen who are members, or the child/grandchild of a member, of FACT. Applicants must not have attended school since 2007 as a full-time student.

Additional Information: This program is primarily designed for the so-called 'average' student. It is for the individual who may never have made the honor roll or who didn't excel on the athletic field, but who sincerely wants to obtain a higher education, but is often overlooked by other scholarship sources. Finalists may be contacted by one or more members of the FACT Scholarship Committee for a personal interview. Winners will be chosen from among the finalists based on need.

Award Amount: $75,000 in total will be spent in scholarships for four students.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $75,000.

Applications are available online on the Federation of American Consumers and Travelers (FACT) website by clicking the 'Past High School Graduate' application link. In addition to the completed application, the student must submit a copy of his/her high school transcript and an essay of up to two pages addressing the topic listed on the application. The application and all supporting materials must be submitted to the address provided, and be received by the deadline date.
