  2. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  3. Must be a resident of Rhode Island.
  4. Must be employed as a legislative page by the state of Rhode Island.
  5. Must be an incoming or current undergraduate or graduate student.

Description: This award is available for Rhode Island undergraduate and graduate students who are legislative pages in Rhode Island. Awards are based on financial need, academic achievement, and good citizenship.

Additional Information: All applicants must demonstrate financial need, academic achievement, and good citizenship.

Award Amount: $1,000 to $1,500 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,250.

Applications are available on the Rhode Island Foundation website. The student must click on the "Scholarship/Fellowship Opportunities" link and then search for his/her desired scholarship to access the application. As part of the online application, the student must upload the following required documents: a resumé or list showing his/her volunteer activities (including dates of participation) and any special honors received; one recommendation letter from a teacher or other professional who can attest to his/her specific qualifications that would make him/her a worthy candidate for this award; a completed 'Financial Information Worksheet' (accessible for download in the application); a copy of his/her SAR (Student Aid Report), which is generated after filing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid); the most recent version of his/her student transcript (unofficial accepted); a dated letter from a State House official as evidence of his/her employment as a page, including dates of service; and an essay of 300 words or less on the topic listed on the application. Documents must be in Word, Excel, or PDF formats. File names should describe the attachment. Applications must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. EST on the deadline date.
