Number of Awards & Eligibility: Two awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen.
  3. Must be an incoming or current undergraduate or graduate student.
  4. Must enroll three-quarter time (nine credit hours) or more.
  5. Must demonstrate academic achievement.
  6. Must demonstrate community involvement/service.
  7. Must be an active member OR the spouse or child of an active member of a Vermont-licensed ambulance or first respond squad. The member must have had a minimum of one year of active service.
  8. The eligible employer must be in Addison or Chittendon counties in Vermont.

Description: This scholarship is available for Vermont students who are active members, or are spouses or children of active members, of a Vermont-licensed ambulance or first-respond squad in Addison or Chittenden counties. Students must demonstrate academic achievement, financial need, and community involvement/service.

Additional Information: This scholarship was created to recognize individuals in emergency medical services (EMS) who serve others on a daily basis. Please note: This scholarship is funded by an endowment subject to laws restricting disbursements under certain investment yield scenarios; as a result, there can be no guarantee of a scholarship award for the upcoming academic year. All applicants must attend an accredited school approved for federal Title IV funding, and must demonstrate financial need. Selection is based on financial need, academic achievement, and application documents.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,000.
