Number of Awards & Eligibility: One scholarship will be provided each year.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must attend Cashmere, Eastmont, River Academy, Wenatchee or Westside High Schools in north central Washington State.
  2. Must be a graduating high school senior.
  3. Must plan to attend Wenatchee Valley College.

Description: The Cakes for College Scholarship is available for graduating high school seniors at Cashmere, Eastmont, River Academy, Wenatchee or Westside High Schools in north central Washington State. Applicants must plan to attend Wenatchee Valley College.

Additional Information: As a previous recipient of a Community Foundation of North Central Washington Scholarship, Ben Paine established this award as a way to say thank you and to give back to the community. Each year, The Keep it in the Valley Foundation sells funnel cakes at the Apple Blossom food fair, and the funds raised by the Foundation's volunteers is used to provide financial assistance for local area high school seniors who will attend school at Wenatchee Valley College. Award selection will be based on a combination of academic achievements, contribution to the community, and unmet financial need. Recipients will be notified in early summer, and will be required to provide additional proof of eligibility such as enrollment or acceptance to Wenatchee Valley College.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, non-renewable. All funds will be deposited directly to Wenatchee Valley College on the student's behalf.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.
