Number of Awards & Eligibility: Multiple awards offered annually. Last year, three scholarships were awarded.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  2. Must be a high school senior or currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate student.
  3. Must identify as a woman.
  4. Must identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans*, or queer.
  5. Must demonstrate academic excellence. A particular grade point average is not required; students' overall records will be considered.
  6. Must demonstrate outstanding community service and a commitment to impacting LGBTQ issues.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is open to women-identified students who are LGBTQ and demonstrate academic excellence, community service, and commitment to impacting LGBTQ issues. Students may be high school seniors or currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate students.

Application requirements for the Traub-Dicker Rainbow Scholarship are:

  • Essay
  • Recommendation letter
  • Application form
  • Official Transcript
  • Letter of acceptance (HS seniors only)
Additional Information: Applicants must demonstrate their motivation to making a difference with their lives. Applications are judged on the following criteria: academic excellence, community service, and commitment to impacting LGBT issues. Leadership, merit, professional and personal goals will all be considered. Scholarship recipients will be notified in June.

Award Amount: $1,500 to $3,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $9,000.

Applications are available on the Stonewall Foundation website. In addition to a completed application, the student must submit the following materials: four essays of 100 to 400 words each on the topics listed on the application; her most recent academic report/transcript (not required to be sealed); a copy of her college or university letter of acceptance (high school seniors only); and two letters of reference from individuals (cannot be family members) who can attest to her academic scholarship, community service, or other significant activities (not required to be sealed). Application materials must be submitted online by the deadline date.
