Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a resident of California.
  3. Must be a full-time student.
  4. Must be attending one of the participating colleges or universities. A complete list is available at the provider website.
  5. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  6. Must be a college sophomore or older to apply. Students must be juniors or seniors at the time the award is given; students who will not be attending school for the complete 2016-2017 academic year are not eligible to apply.
  7. Must demonstrate a commitment to the field of water resources by pursuing a degree related to engineering, agricultural and/or urban water supply, environmental studies or public administration.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is available for U.S. college juniors and/or seniors who are legal residents of the state of California. Students must currently be or plan on attending one of the colleges/universities specified by the Association of California Water Agencies (ACWA) full time for the entirety of the academic year, and must have demonstrated a commitment to the field of water resources by pursuing a degree related to engineering, agricultural and/or urban water supply, environmental studies or public administration.

Additional Information: Each academic year, the ACWA awards scholarships to qualified students in various water resources-related fields of study. The scholarship funds associated with these awards will be made available to the recipients at the beginning of each school year at the start of the fall term. Applicants must plan to attend school for the complete academic year. The award will be based not only on scholastic achievement, but also on the applicant's commitment and motivation to his/her chosen vocation. Financial need will also be given due consideration.

Award Amount: $3,500 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $3,500.

Applications are available on the Association of California Water Agencies (ACWA) website. In addition to a completed application, the applicant must also submit a sealed college transcript, two letters of recommendation, and a one- to two-page essay addressing the topics listed on the application. All application materials must be submitted online on or before the deadline.
