Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  3. Must be a high school senior graduating from a public or private high school or the equivalent (GED) OR a currently enrolled undergraduate OR a non-traditional student who has previously graduated from high school or the equivalent and has been accepted for admission or is currently enrolled as an undergraduate student.
  4. Must be enrolled full time.
  5. Must pursue a health career field at an accredited professional/technical school or an accredited public or private junior college, college, or university.
  6. Scholarships are primarily awarded to full-time residents of the area served by West Valley Medical Center, including Canyon and Owyhee Counties in Idaho and Malheur County in Oregon.
  7. Must have a grade point average of 2.0 or higher.

Description: This scholarship is open to U.S. high school seniors/graduates, undergraduate students, and non-traditional students enrolling as undergraduates who are pursuing a health career field. Students must be residents of Canyon and Owyhee Counties in Idaho or Malheur County in Oregon, and have a grade point average of 2.0 or higher.

Additional Information: Some scholarships will be based solely on merit; others will be based on both merit and financial need

Award Amount: The award amount varies annually. Awards are non-renewable, but students can reapply.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $4,600.

Applications are available on the Idaho Community Foundation (ICF) website. Please note: The student may apply for all scholarships for which he/she is qualified; however, a separate application and supplemental materials must be submitted for each scholarship. In addition to a completed application, the student must submit the following materials: five one-page essays addressing the topics listed on the application; a copy of his/her most recent high school transcript, report card, or unofficial/uncertified college transcript; a completed Financial Aid Form (available from the ICF); ACT and/or SAT scores; two letters of recommendation; and a handwritten paragraph stating why he/she should be considered for this scholarship. Applications must be emailed to the address provided by the deadline date.
