Number of Awards & Eligibility: Three awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a high school senior at time of application.
  3. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  4. Must plan to enroll full time for the upcoming academic year.
  5. Must be a member, or his/her parent must be a member, of Chesterfield Federal Credit Union.

Description: This scholarship is available for U.S. high school seniors who are members of, or whose parents are members of, Chesterfield Federal Credit Union in Chesterfield, VA. Student must plan to enroll in college full time.

Application requirements for the Charles R. Quaiff, Sr. Memorial Scholarship are:

  • Application form
  • Official Transcript
  • Essays (3)
  • SAT/ACT scores
Additional Information: Each applicant will be judged in the following categories: essay, academics, financial need, and extracurricular activities. Students who have applied for or received other scholarships are eligible. Scholarship funds will be paid directly to the college of the winner's choice upon registration. In the event the student chooses not to continue his/her education, the scholarship will be awarded to an alternate student.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, non-renewable. Scholarship funds will be paid directly to the recipient's college upon registration.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.

Applications are available online on the Chesterfield Federal Credit Union (CFCU) website.In addition to the completed application, the student must submit the following: a complete transcript of high school records; a copy of his/her SAT/ACT scores; and three short essays as listed on the scholarship application. Essays must be typed and double spaced on plain white paper. The applicant is welcome to submit any other information that he/ she feels would assist the committee in making a decision in his/her favor, including letters of recommendation.Applicants will not be notified if documentation is missing or incomplete. Any applications received by the deadline without all of the above required information will not be accepted.The application and all supplemental materials must be sent to the address provided, postmarked by 5 p.m. EST on the deadline date. All required documentation can also be dropped off directly at CFCU.
