Number of Awards & Eligibility: Two awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be a resident of Lebanon county, Pennsylvania.
  2. Must attend a college or university in Pennsylvania.
  3. This award is for U.S. students.
  4. Must be a current undergraduate college student.
  5. Must be pursuing a degree in social sciences or human services, including fields such as: medicine, nursing, social work, mental health, and other specialized therapies in the treatment of physical and mental disabilities.
  6. Must be a U.S. citizen.

Description: This award is for U.S. undergraduate students who are residents of Lebanon county in Pennsylvania. Applicants must plan to major in a field of social sciences or human services, such as medicine, nursing, counseling, or social work.

Additional Information: The Family & Children’s Services of Lebanon County Fund of the Foundation for Enhancing Communities provides financial scholarships for Lebanon County residents pursuing higher education degrees in social sciences and human services. The scholarships are granted to students enrolled in schools of advanced education in the fields of medicine, nursing, social work, mental health, and other specialized therapies in the treatment of physical and mental disabilities.

Award Amount: $1,200 annually, renewable for up to an additional four years.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $4,800.

Applications are available online from The Foundation for Enhancing Communities website.During the online application, applicants must submit a copy of the scholarship information list provided by TFEC, a copy of his/her Student Aid Report, and a personal essay addressing the topics listed on the application. The Student Aid Report (SAR) is obtained by filing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). The FAFSA is available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov, at high school guidance offices, and at college financial aid offices.In addition, the following items must be submitted via postal mail: an official copy of the student's most recent transcripts; a letter of personal reference; and for current high school students, a completed Guidance Counselor form.All materials must be submitted online and by postal mail, and must be received by TFEC no later than the deadline date.
