Number of Awards & Eligibility: Typically two awards offered annually, one for a traditional student and one for a non-traditional student.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be a legal resident of Delaware.
  2. This award is for U.S. students.
  3. Must have been a resident of a manufactured home for at least one year prior to the application.
  4. Must be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen.
  5. Must be a high school senior or former graduate seeking to further his/her education. The scholarship may be used for any type of accredited two- or four-year degree program, or for any accredited training, licensing, or certification program.
  6. Must enroll part time or full time.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is available to U.S high school seniors or former graduates who are residents of Delaware and seeking to further their education. Students must have resided in a manufactured home for at least one year prior to the application.

Additional Information: Applications are evaluated based on scholastic record, financial need, essay, and personal/professional recommendations.

Award Amount: Up to $2,000 annually, non-renewable. Recipients may re-apply annually.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,000.

Applications are available at the Delaware Higher Education Office (DHEO) website or by contacting the DHEO. In addition to the completed application, each student must submit the following documents: an essay of at least 500 words on the topic "Evaluate a significant experience, achievement, or risk you have taken and its impact on you"; two letters of recommendation from personal or professional sources who know him/her well; and the appropriate grade release form. If the student is a high school senior or has less than 12 college credits, he/she must have the High School Academic Record Report and Transcript Request and high school transcript submitted by his/her high school directly to the DHEO. If the student has 12 or more college credits, he/she must have the College Grade Release Form submitted by his/her institution directly to the DHEO. Forms are available on the DHEO website at dedoe.schoolwires.net/Page/1887. Each student must also file a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) prior to the application deadline. The FAFSA is available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov, at high school guidance offices, and at college financial aid offices. All application materials must be received by 4:30 p.m. on the deadline date.
