Number of Awards & Eligibility: Ten awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  2. Must be a high school senior or older to apply for this undergraduate award.
  3. Must have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher.
  4. Must plan to attend a UNCF member college or university. A list of UNCF member colleges and universities is available online.
  5. This award is for U.S. students.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: Foot Locker Foundation, Inc. has partnered with UNCF to fund this scholarship for students attending a UNCF member college or university during the fall. United States high school seniors or older who plan to attend a UNCF member college or university, with a GPA of 2.5 or higher are eligible.

Additional Information: *Please note: Applicants with the following are excluded from the eligible class: (a) officers and directors of the Foundation and of Foot Locker, Inc. and its affiliates and (b) family members of these officers and directors.

Award Amount: Up to $5,000 annually. Recipients will only be considered for scholarship renewal if they continue to meet all requirements listed and satisfactorily complete the application process.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $50,000.

Applications are available on the United Negro College Fund (UNCF) website. In addition to a completed application, the applicant must also submit one letter of recommendation; and a one-page essay on the topic, "Why should I obtain an UNCF-Foot Locker Foundation, Inc. Scholarship?". The essay must include discussion of any professional work experience and the applicant's future goals. The letter of recommendation must be completed using the online process. The applicant must enter information on the recommender he/she has requested to submit a letter of recommendation on his/her behalf. The correct email address for the recommender must be entered as he/she will be notified by email to upload the letter of recommendation. If this is the first time the recommender has been added into the apply online system, he/she will be given a automated password with their email address to log in. The application may be submitted without an uploaded letter of recommendation if it has been submitted by a different manner, although this may cause a delay in processing. All application materials must be submitted online by midnight on the deadline.
